Reaching Clarity, Independent Living Program (ILP), partners with youth who are aged between 18-21 and are in State custody to provide them with affordable, safe and stable housing. Our program is designed to empower young adults by assisting them to develop life skills, vocational skills, create an educational plan or alternative, and work part-time. Our ILP program is committed to promoting self-sufficiency amongst youth by assisting them with establishing positive community connections, and learning responsibility for their housing.
Reaching Clarity assist youth with developing necessary life tools through coaching, emotional support, and guidance provided by staff and trained personnel. The program’s goal is to develop daily life skills, financial literacy, education and career development, leadership skills, and build positive self-esteem that will enable youth to make the transition from foster care to independence. The ILP program is idea for young adults who are responsible, goal-oriented, self-motivated and determined to create their own pathway to success.
Reaching Clarity staff is always available for our program residents, 24-hours a day. Our ILP participants benefit from being paired with a Life Coach who will educate them on how to maintain daily living and coping skills, assist them in obtaining educational, vocational, and employment opportunities, and provide guidance in obtaining necessary medical and mental health services.
We provide safe and stable housing with furnished efficiency apartments and supervised daily living skills training. Conveniently accessible by MARTA.
Youth are given the opportunity to work with mentors to develop a comprehensive educational plan that includes completing high school or GED, as well as receiving support and guidance throughout the application process for college or vocational programs.
We help youth develop life skills for self-sufficiency in household maintenance, health, cooking, money management, community engagement, and transportation.
Collaborating with businesses like J&R Ross Agency and WorkSource Georgia enhances youth's vocational skills and work experience. Minimum work requirement for youth is 25 hours a week, if not enrolled in school full-time.
